Los Angeles Beaches

With 42 miles of white sandy beaches overlooking the Pacific Ocean, you'll have no problem finding a nice spot to work on your tan, swim, play volleyball, or just relax and read a book. There's also plenty of boardwalk where you can rollerblade, take a bike ride, or get in a good jog down to the pier.

Of course, if you're a little more adventurous there's always body surfing at The Wedge in Newport Beach, people watching at Main Beach in Laguna, boating excursions from Dana Point Harbor, or the excellent surfing and boogie boarding conditions over in Huntington.



Malibu Beach

Actually this beachfront community which is famous for its warm, sandy beaches is more than one beach, the most popular being Surfrider Beach, Zuma Beach, and Leo Carillo Beach. Malibu Beach has always been a popular spot for Hollywood movies and television shows, among the most famous ofcourse is Baywatch, featuring Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff.

When it comes to surfing, Surfrider Beach next to Malibu Pier is the place for serious surfers and is considered one of the worlds premiere surfing beaches. When done surfing you will find that Malibu Pier is a great spot for saltwater fishing.

Santa Monica Beach

Venice Beach

Marina del Rey

Marina del Rey is home to over 6,000 pleasure boats and yachts and has boat launching ramps that provide access to over 100,000 trailer-class boats annually.

Manhattan Beach

Tucked in the South Bay area of Los Angeles is Manhattan Beach with the Manhattan Beach Pier. At the tip of the pier you can find the Roundhouse, home to Marine Studies Lab and Aquarium. The pier is a hot spot for surfing, body surfing, and boogie boarding and offers some fantastic surfing. And the place is full of history, this is where The Beach Boys lived.

Hermosa Beach

Hermosa Beach City (which means Beautiful Beach) is located in the South Bay region of the Los Angeles County with a population of around 20,000. This used to be a sleepy beach community close to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), but is now nicely developed beach town, with hotels, bars, restaurants and ofcourse the beach. The beach is a great place to surf, play volleyball at the courts or just relax.

Next to Hermosa Beach Municipal Pier you will find the lifeguard headquarters and the pier is a popular spot for fishing.

Redondo Beach

Only minutes south of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) you will find Redondo Beach and The Redondo Beach Pier. By some called the "seafood capital" of Southern California. Here you will find the Redondo Beach Dog Park, an off-leash access for dogs, excursion boats, fishing.

The pier is shaped like a horse shoe, starting at one point of the beach and wrapping around to another, contains numerous shops and restaurants and an open fresh fish markets.
