Disneyland® Resort – Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Now Open!

For the first time ever, there’s a place where you can live your very own Star Wars™ story. A place where you can fly the galaxy’s most legendary ship, the Millennium Falcon. A place where you’ll find yourself caught in a battle between the First Order and the Resistance. With a whole new land, you can finally live your adventure in a galaxy far, far away. Welcome to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Set your coordinates for the edge of the galaxy to the planet Batuu where you’ll be immersed in the alluring offerings of a mysterious outpost and thriving port that’s a haven for scoundrels, rogues and smugglers. Throughout its markets, around corners and through back alleys, you can encounter strange creatures and alien languages. Touch ancient antiquities from across the galaxy. You can build your own droids and even construct a custom lightsaber* for your adventures ahead. Drop by the cantina* to sample the local beverages and curious concoctions. Whether it’s taking in the sounds of the otherworldly music, the fragrance of exotic cuisine or the sights of things never before seen, this marketplace summons your senses to life like never before.

Ever flown a starship before? No matter. On Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, you’ll board the Millennium Falcon, where legends have been made and new ones are about to be created. You and your crew will answer the call to be part of a covert mission. And whether you’re a pilot, engineer or gunner, every role is crucial as you take control of the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. The engines rumble as the Falcon blasts off as you enter hyperspace and into the adventure you’ve always dreamed of. Along the way you’ll face excitement around every turn and sway, plus the looming threat of the First Order—who will forever label you as an enemy. Get ready to punch it!

On Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, opening January 17, 2020, steady your nerves and summon your resolve because you and other Resistance recruits have boarded a transport that has been captured by a Star Destroyer. Keep your head down. In an instant, you’ll be caught in blaster fire from stormtroopers surrounding you. And if that’s not enough, you’ll discover how huge the excitement can get when you round a corner and discover a towering AT-AT—with its lasers pointed…Right. At. You. But then, what’s that? In the heat of it all, you’ll feel an unmistakable presence in the air as a sudden red glow cuts the darkness and the crackle of a lightsaber announces an inevitable showdown with Kylo Ren himself.

So, raise a glass of Blue Milk. Because soon the time will come to live your adventure in a galaxy far, far away at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Planning a Visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland® Resort

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been sharing the unique sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Batuu with off-worlders with reservations since May 31. There is so much to see and do at this epic new land, including strolling the Black Spire Outpost Marketplace, tasting blue or green milk and taking the controls of the Millennium Falcon. Here are some great tips to help you plan your visit to the far-flung destination of Batuu!

Boarding Groups

For guests wishing to live out Star Wars™ adventures and access Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Disneyland® Resort may utilize a virtual queuing system, as needed, to help everyone have a great experience. Download the Disneyland® app before arriving and check the app or signage the day of your visit to find out if you will need to be part of a boarding group to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that day. The boarding group will save you a virtual spot in line so you can enjoy other experiences while you wait to be notified of a time to enter.

You may use the Disneyland® app to request to be part of a boarding group after entering Disneyland® park, if implemented that day. Simply link the theme park tickets of everyone in your party together on the app to request the same boarding group for your entire party. To see which boarding group is currently being admitted to the land, look on the app or digital signage in the park.

If you enable push notifications on your mobile device, you will be notified when it is time to enter the land. If not, continue to check the Disneyland® app or digital signage in the park, and enjoy other experiences, while awaiting your boarding group. You have up to two hours to enter the land after your boarding group is called for admission, so there is no rush!

For guests not using the Disneyland® app, a boarding group may be obtained with a park admission ticket at select Disney FASTPASS Service locations such as Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones Adventure, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain or near the Matterhorn Bobsleds.

Reservations for Savi’s Workshop and Oga’s Cantina

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will no longer require a reservation to access the land, although reservations will be required for Savi’s Workshop and Oga’s Cantina, which have very limited capacities. Guests wishing to book a reservation for these experiences may do so on the same day of their visit, beginning at 7 a.m., with a valid credit card. Reservations for both experiences will allow access into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the time of the reservation, so it will not be necessary to join a boarding group, if applicable, to enter the land to participate in a reserved experience.

Make the most of your visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge by planning ahead with these new innovative digital planning tools to access Batuu, resulting in more time to enjoy the Disneyland® Resort!
