Why Visit Universal Studios Hollywood™?
Universal Studios Hollywood™ is unique in that it is not only a theme park but also one of the oldest working studio lots in Hollywood. A tram ride through the history of American cinema gives visitors the opportunity to see where the magic happens.
Anyone who loves movies will delight in the Studio Tour. This attraction takes you on a guided tour of the Hollywood studios backlot featuring sites where many popular movies and shows were filmed, including Jurassic Park, Jaws, War of the Worlds and Back to the Future. The newly re-themed Jurassic World attraction is the latest new addition to the park, replacing 23-year old Jurassic Park: The Ride. Jurassic World: The Ride brings more thrills and bigger special effects, as well as drenching its guests. Also visit the new DreamWorks Theater, which features “Kung Fu Panda: The Emperor’s Quest,” an immersive motion and visual experience.
Another cant-miss experience includes The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™. Explore the mysteries of Hogwarts™ castle, visit the shops of Hogsmeade™, eat bangers and mash and drink Butterbeer™ like Harry Potter at the Three Broomsticks restaurant. Dress up like Hermione or Snape while you’re there.
Universal Studios Hollywood™ Tips
Make the most of your trip by buying your tickets ahead of time and picking a less busy time to visit, generally September through mid-November and January through early March.
The Universal Express™ pass allows visitors to skip the long lines one time for each attraction, or skip the lines all day with the Universal Express™ Unlimited pass. Best to arrive before the park opens and schedule your day around showtimes. Park tip: Start on the lower level at the beginning of your day, and then move on to the upper level after. The lines tend to be shorter on the lower level in the morning.
