7 Favorite Rides for Adults at Disneyland® Resort
Walt Disney once said, “It is my wish to delight all members of the family, young and old, parent and child.” While it has always been easy to imagine the fun that children can have at Disneyland® Park, Disney is truly designed for all ages, including adults. If you are off to visit Disneyland® Resort as an adult, be sure you make time to visit our seven favorite rides.
1. Space Mountain (Disneyland® Park)
Can you really go to Disneyland® Park without riding Space Mountain? Sure, but you’d be missing out on one of this incredible park’s most famous attractions. Space Mountain opened in spring 1977 and has been delighting guests with its twists and turns ever since. You should definitely make the time to ride this iconic roller coaster. There’s a reason this ride can be found in Disney parks around the globe – it’s just that fun!
2. Incredicoaster (Disney California Adventure® Park)
Roller coaster enthusiasts love the Incredicoaster. This steel track roller coaster is the eighth-longest coaster in the world and a must-ride when you come to Disney California Adventure® Park. You and Jack-Jack from the movie The Incredibles will love this ride as you soak up some California sun together.
3. Star Tours (Disneyland® Park)
Based on the Star Wars film series, this motion simulator attraction is a great ride for those who love the film series and even those who don’t. This simulator ride can make you feel like you’re traveling at light-speed through the galaxy. Come back in summer 2019 for the grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which is sure to be a huge hit!
4. Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! (Disney California Adventure® Park)
If you like big, fast drops in the dark, then this ride will bring a smile to your face. Disney re-imagined the infamous Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure® Park and brought Rocket Racoon in to greet you as you undertake this new mission.
You might want to ride this more than once, as there are six different drop sequences featuring different popular songs that are bound to get you singing along – if you’re not too busy screaming, that is!
5. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters (Disneyland® Park)
Not all rides have to be hair-raising white-knuckle experiences for adults to have fun. Take a ride in a slow-moving car and shoot as many targets as possible. You’re trying to defeat the evil Zurg, but it’s also fun to compete against your fellow passenger to see who can score the most points.
6. Matterhorn Bobsleds (Disneyland® Park)
This bumpy roller coaster sees you trying to escape the Abominable Snowman as you traverse the Matterhorn in your bobsled. It reopened in the fall of 2018, following renovations, so be sure to get in line to see the new and improved Matterhorn Bobsleds.
7. Splash Mountain (Disneyland® Park)
With a name like that, you can expect to get a little wet when you ride Splash Mountain. This log flume ride has you taking a tour with Br’er Rabbit as you enjoy the turns and dips, finishing with a huge, five-story waterfall drop.
