SeaWorld Orlando: Best Rides for Children 10 and under – aRes Travel

SeaWorld® Orlando discount packages can make your family’s dream vacation a reality. Located in sunny Florida, SeaWorld® Orlando offers the perfect balance of age-appropriate thrills, dazzling performances, and thrilling marine life encounters for the entire family, from the very young to the young at heart.

Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin

This state of the trackless art system transports riders through an indoor Antarctic environment to the icy world of the South Pole where life is viewed through the eyes of a newborn penguin called Puck.

Empire of the Penguin is a ride that not only serves as an introduction to the exhibit but also helps with the transition in temperature as guests enter the chilling habitat of these picturesque penguins.

Journey to Atlantis

Prepare to get wet on this log flume ride that is part roller coaster, part water ride. Journey to Atlantis explores the sunken kingdom of Atlantis with exciting, mythical surprises sure to thrill.

When the sunken darkness opens to the world above, guests find themselves at the top of a 60-foot drop where they are tossed into the water below.

Turtle Trek

The vulnerable sea turtle is the star of this outdoor/indoor exhibit, with a supporting cast of alligators and manatees. Guests will enter a 360° dome theater to watch a 3D computer-animated film that surrounds the audience as it details the journey of a sea turtle.

Turtle Trek will amaze and delight as you imagine life from the perspective of a sea turtle.

Wild Arctic

Experience pure wonder as you get up close and personal to walruses, beluga whales, and harbor seals on this attraction designed to resemble a research station in the Arctic Ocean. Guests can take a motion-simulated helicopter ride through the Arctic or bypass the ride and proceed directly to the animal exhibits.

Manta

If you love roller coasters, prepare yourself for this one of a kind roller coaster. Fly through the air just as a manta ray glides through the water as you are propelled headfirst, face down on this one of a kind roller coaster.

Manta begins with an inverted nose-dive as it rips down the track and continues into a pretzel loop, two inline twists, and a corkscrew that will leave roller coaster enthusiasts squealing with pleasure.

Children must be at least 54” tall to ride Manta, so this ride is not for toddlers.

Infinity Falls™

Cool off on this fun river raft ride! You and your raft mates will spin your way along a course filled with wet and wild surprises. Loop past majestic waterfalls as the raft makes its way to the top of Infinity Falls, the world’s tallest raft ride waterfall. Get ready to plunge into the water below.

Sesame Street Neighborhood

The creators of the new Sesame Street area at SeaWorld® Orlando designed this section of the park with their youngest guests in mind. The parades, entertainment, and interactive play that promises to amuse and delight children of all ages bring all the lovable Sesame Street characters to life.

Your child can ride their very own nest on Big Bird’s Twirl ‘N’ Whirl, or bounce their way to fun and giggles on Cookie Monster’s Cookie Drop! The magic never ends when they take a ride on Elmo’s Choo Choo Train or get wet on Rubber Duckie Water Works. A delightful swivel ride with Oscar the Grouch’s pet worm will spin your child through Oscar’s compost pile on Slimey’s Slider. For little thrill seekers, Super Grover’s Box Car Derby offers a pint-sized roller coaster with lots of hills, turns, and dives.

Low-Key Rides

The experts in the engineering department created a lot of rides at SeaWorld® Orlando as a contrast to the more exciting and fast-paced roller coasters.

The Flamingo Paddle boats let visitors relax and leisurely paddle themselves around the central lake in the park.

The Sea Carousel is SeaWorld® Orlando’s answer to a classic ride at carnivals since the early 20th century. This marine-animal themed ride has a vast, 45-wide octopus that will delight the younger members of the family. Everyone is welcome, including children under the ride’s 42-inch height minimum. Infants can ride on one of the benches with an accompanying companion.

Pacific Point Preserve

This section of the park is not only educational but fun for everyone.

The enclosed are includes California sea lions and harbor seals.

Visitors can even feed the animals.

There are even special animal tours available for groups that educate young visitors on the various sorts of sea life at the park.

Special Animal Exhibits

SeaWorld® Orlando has a plethora of different animal exhibits to delight young and old.

At Shamu Stadium, where many of the animal shows take place, there is Up-Close Dining where you and the family can enjoy lunch or refreshments while dolphins and other sea life swim nearby.

Dolphin Cove has areas above and below ground level where you can see bottlenose dolphins at play.

The new dolphin nursey exhibit lets you see dolphin moms and their babies in a special section of the park.

Other animal viewing sections include the Jewel of the Sea Aquarium, Manatee Rehabilitation Area, and the Underwater Viewing section where you can watch whales swimming by.

Don’t miss Pelican Preserve where the staff cares for rescued pelicans.

Shark Encounter

Shark Encounter deserves special mention. Children will never forget walking through the world’s largest underwater viewing tunnel with sharks swimming above and on either side.

You can even arrange a special tour where children can actually touch a baby shark.
