Everything You Need to Know About Brick-or-Treat Party Nights at LEGOLAND®
For families in the Southern California area, LEGOLAND® California’s Brick-or-Treat party is the highlight of the year. Every year from late September through October, LEGOLAND® California Resort is transformed into a fun-filled, kid-friendly Halloween bash complete with giant spiders, spooky characters and pumpkins galore.
Find out everything you need to know about LEGOLAND® California’s Brick-or-Treat party and how you can make the most of this fantastic seasonal event.
Brick-or-Treat park hours are from 5 pm until 9 pm on Saturday nights from September 28th until October 26th. If you are planning to visit the park all day and continue into the evening event, you will need a special wristband which you can get from two locations just inside the front gate. Some Brick-or-Treat stations are available starting at 3 pm, so you can get a head start on the Halloween festivities.
Brick-or-Treat is ticketed separately from the general entrance into LEGOLAND® California, but the ticket does include access to SEA LIFE® aquarium, live entertainment, and rides.
LEGOLAND® California’s Brick-or-Treat party evenings are not part of the Kids Free San Diego Promotion that runs through October. However, you can upgrade your general admission tickets to Brick-or-Treat tickets at guest services.
Events and Attractions
At LEGOLAND® California, there are plenty of fun and spooky activities that can keep the whole family entertained throughout the park.
The Brick-or-Treat event has candy stations placed in multiple areas throughout the entire park. To make sure you don’t miss out on any sweet treats, pick up a map at the entrance to scope out the location of all the trick-or-treat spots. Staff are friendly and generous with the candy and encourage you to visit the candy stations as many times as you like.
Make your way down to Miniland for the annual LEGOLAND® California Halloween costume competition. It’s an excellent activity for the kids who always enjoy showing off their fun, creative costumes.
There are three categories to enter: group, creative and LEGO®. Don’t forget to register for the competition at least 15 minutes before the competition starts. First, second and third prize winners go home with a basket full of LEGO® merchandise and park tickets.
If your little ones don’t want to compete, there is also a costume parade they can join.
Astro-Bash Dance Party
Get ready to boogie down with the intergalactic dance crew at the Astro-Bash dance party. If your kids love the Pop Badge challenge, special Halloween badges are available to kids who snap a photo with the intergalactic dancers at the party.
SEA LIFE® Aquarium
Included in the price of the LEGOLAND® California Brick-or-Treat ticket is entry to SEA LIFE® aquarium, which features tanks full of spooky creatures to thrill the little ones.
Every Brick-or-Treat night, LEGOLAND® California hosts a variety of live Halloween shows at different locations throughout the park. Watch Professor Frankenbrick bring his monstrous LEGO® creations to life, or party with the Boo Crew with an all-new creepy-crawly member, The Spider Queen, a spectacular stilt-walker. Over at the Courtyard Theatre, the Witchettes perform spooky hits that will have the kids singing and dancing all night long.
It wouldn’t be a trip to LEGOLAND® California without building amazing LEGO® creations. LEGO® building gets a spooky twist at the activity stations dotted around the park. Build a LEGO® pumpkin or create creepy crafts along with your favorite LEGO® characters.
Of course, the rides are a big part of the LEGOLAND® California experience. While some rides do not operate during Brick-or-Treat hours, the open rides may have a shorter wait time than usual as the crowds die down. You can get the LEGOLAND® California app to check the wait times for each ride and create an itinerary to help to make the most of your visit.
Visitors with Brick-or-Treat only tickets can enter the park at 4 pm, which gives you time to enjoy the rides before heading off to collect candy. Some of the must-see rides for the kids this Halloween include Lost Kingdom Adventure, Dragon Coaster, Driving School, and of course Miniland, USA.
Beyond the stunning seasonal décor, LEGOLAND® California Resort has plenty of opportunities to capture Halloween photos of the kids with decorative backdrops and sets dotted throughout the park. There are also meet and greets with your kids’ favorite LEGO® characters and spooky costumed creatures.
While the kids may be content to munch on their Halloween haul, there are also more substantial offerings available from the food and beverage facilities in the park. Try old-fashioned candy apples, or crispy apple fries dusted in cinnamon sugar. And if you haven’t had enough pumpkin spice yet, try the pumpkin shake or the Monster Chili Mango Shake from Castle Ice Cream.
