Benefits of Visiting in October

Visiting during the off-season is a great time to see the sights of the park while it is less crowded. You’ll maximize your time at the park, and your kids will enjoy hopping on ride after ride with shorter lines. October is also one of the best off-season months because the weather is still warm enough in beautiful California to enjoy the water attractions and be comfortable walking around the park.

LEGOLAND® California celebrates Halloween in style during October. The park will have spooky decorations and treat stations with over one million pieces of candy in all set up on specified nights in October. These dates also feature Brick-or-Treat Party Nights where there will be special Halloween dances, activities, and performances. Families can participate in a scavenger hunt for the chance to win a special LEGO® prize. The festivities end with a dazzling fireworks display which will be sure to entertain the whole family.

Special Halloween characters like LEGO® Mummy and Lord Vampyre will be available for meet and greets, along with an assortment of other monstrously fun figures. Kids can come in costume and even enter into the costume contest for a chance to win a special prize! There will be family building events where you can make your own LEGO® pumpkin and other fun activities.

If your kids are LEGO® fanatics, they’ll be happy to have access to the massive LEGO® store at the park. With the smaller crowds, visiting the store will not feel like it’s taking time away from the park. The LEGO® stores at the park are usually stocked with even the most difficult to find sets, so the LEGO® lovers in your family will not leave disappointed. Every brand is featured, from LEGO® NINJAGO to LEGO® FRIENDS, so there is something for every LEGO® lover in your family.

You and your children will also find exclusive access to special LEGO® Halloween merchandise, which can make a great keepsake for your trip home. Your children can participate in LEGO® jack-o-lantern, LEGO® Halloween mosaic, and LEGO® scarecrow building opportunities for the chance to create a spooky LEGO® craft of their own. There is also a LEGO® Halloween building competition for kids who really love creating masterpieces with their LEGO® bricks.

Other Tips for Your Park Visit

Even with smaller amounts of people visiting the park, it doesn’t hurt to know some tips and tricks about the park to maximize your time and enjoyment of the park. One popular tip is to start at the back of the park and work your way to the front. Many people make the mistake of hopping in line for the first ride they see, which can cause pileups fast. By starting at the back of the park, you’ll find shorter lines for rides, and you will have the opportunity to go on your favorite rides more than once.

If your kids are avid LEGO® collectors, they’ll probably have some spare Minifigures lying around. Arguably the best accessories of any LEGO® set, Minifigures are a huge draw during any visit to LEGOLAND® California. Kids have the exclusive opportunity to swap their old Minifigures for new ones found in different locations around the park.

LEGOLAND® California staff have a number of unique Minifigures to trade, and there are also special trading stations set up too, so there are several different trading options available. LEGOLAND® California is the only location to offer this trade, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity. Minifigures must be complete to trade, with the main figure and all of its appropriate accessories like hats or other headpieces.

Finally, it’s very important to check the dates of your visit. Review the LEGOLAND® California opening dates and hours, as during the off-season the park is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Water attractions are also known to have seasonal hours, so make sure to plan out your visit before you book. If you want to make the most of your time at LEGOLAND® California in October, be sure to schedule your visit on a Brick-or-Treat party day as well.
