How to Maximize Your Time in Disneyland® Resort

Disneyland® Resort is the perfect vacation spot that everyone in the family can enjoy. Whether you’re planning to get in touch with your inner Indiana Jones in Adventure Land or hanging out with Snow White in Fantasy Land, Disneyland® Resort has it all! Although Disneyland® Resort is a fun and magical place, there are many ways to make your visit that much more enjoyable. We’ve got some secrets to share with you, such as Disneyland® Resort ticket deals and words of advice to make your visit to “the happiest place on earth” completely unforgettable.

With 2019 right around the corner, there are some things you will need to know to maximize your time at Disneyland® Resort and get the most out of your family vacation.

Purchase Your Tickets Online

If you’re planning to visit Disneyland® Resort any time soon, you will find the best discounts online. Promotional offers from authorized Disney ticket sellers can change, so if you see a good offer we suggest you buy it because it may only be around for a limited time. Historically, Disneyland has raised the gate price every year around February and March. If you are planning a trip to Disneyland® Resort in 2019, we highly recommend purchasing your tickets early. The greatest savings are on the multi-day tickets, save even more if you book a hotel with your tickets.

Spend at Least 3 Days at the Park

Many visitors often say that one day isn’t enough to get through the entire park. Two days tend to give visitors a good bubble of time to get through everything, but will you see everything at both parks?

We highly recommend our visitors to give themselves a good amount of time to visit both parks. We also feel that a rushed experience isn’t always a pleasant one, so please think wisely about the time you’re planning to spend at the Disneyland® Resort.

A bonus is that 3-day passes come with one Magic Morning Early Entry so you can get a head start and enjoy the rides without the long lines.

Get a Park Hopper® ticket

Park Hopper® tickets allow entry to both parks in one day.

Stay Close to the Park

We highly recommend staying at any of the hotels within walking distance of the park or at least 3 miles away (maximum.) The added benefit of staying at these hotels is that you can avoid the delays brought on by heavy traffic and trying to find parking. Good Neighbor Hotels offer quality accommodations that are located near the Disneyland® Resort.

If you choose a hotel that is walking distance, you have the convenience of going to your room for an afternoon break. Most of these nearby hotels offer free shuttle service to the park. This is an excellent option because not only will you not have to worry about your car, but you will also save on the daily parking fee.

Download the Disneyland® App

If this will be your first visit to Disneyland® Resort, it’s important to know your way around the park. Upon entry, park greeters will provide you with maps, but for a more interactive experience, you can download the Disneyland® app, free of charge.

Not only does the app provide an in-depth map, but you will be able to check out ride schedules, order food and reserve tables at any of the park’s restaurants, get FASTPASS tickets or buy the MaxPass. Although there is a small fee for the MaxPass, this service includes unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos.

Something to keep in mind is that the park’s Wi-Fi service can be a bit spotty, so make sure you have enough mobile data in case of emergencies.

Wear Comfortable Shoes

Believe us when we say that comfortable shoes will make a huge difference. If you want to maximize your time at Disneyland® Resort, wear comfortable shoes. Not only will you be walking several miles during your stay, but you will also be standing for extended periods of time while waiting in line.

We hope that these simple tips have been useful in helping you plan your upcoming vacation. By following these tips, we are certain that you will maximize your time at Disneyland® Resort and make the most out of your visit.
