What Is the Best Kind of Disneyland® Pass or Ticket to Buy?

Planning a trip to Disneyland® Resort with friends or family is a great idea, but sometimes ticket prices can seem cost prohibitive. Here’s a breakdown of the different Disneyland® ticket options offered by aRes Travel that are designed to help you get the most out of your vacation!

3-Day, 4-Day, and 5-Day Park Hopper® Tickets

If you purchase these tickets in advance, you can save money as well as enjoying special benefits too! You will receive a Magic Morning early entry into a designated Disneyland® Resort theme park on one of your three, four, or five days that you use this ticket (you pick which day), in addition to your access to unlimited admission for both Disneyland® and Disney California Adventure® Theme Parks.

If you book these tickets from aRes Travel, you’ll save around $30 on tickets for both adults and children. Those savings can go towards a souvenir T-shirt, meals, or whatever else you’d like to spend it on!

3-Day, 4-Day, and 5-Day Park Hopper® Tickets with Disney MaxPass

These packages feature the same benefits of the Park Hopper® Tickets for your respective amount of days purchased, but ALSO include Disney MaxPass for all ticketed days.

Disney MaxPass is a service through which you can book Disney FASTPASS reservations through the Disneyland® Resort mobile app. Disney MaxPass users also get unlimited Disney PhotoPass Photos downloads for the day.

The aRes Travel savings on these packages gives you a huge discount, not found anywhere else.

3-Day, 4-Day, and 5-Day, 1-Park per Day, Tickets

These tickets offer you the ability to fully explore one park each day, either Disneyland® Park or Disney California Adventure®, on each day they are used.

These tickets also come with one Magic Morning early entry into a designated Disneyland® Resort theme park. It is important to note, two of these tickets cannot be combined to access both parks on the same day.

With aRes Travel, you can save between $21 and $26 per ticket with these particular packages.

3-Day, 4-Day, and 5-Day, 1-Park per Day, Tickets with Disney MaxPass

Purchasing this package provides you with the same great benefits as the other 1-Park per Day tickets, with the addition of the Disney MaxPass to allow you to book Disney FASTPASSes in advance and download unlimited Disney PhotoPass photos throughout your day.

Savings with aRes Travel are similar to the other 1-Park per Day packages, ranging between $21 and $26 depending on how many days you’re buying tickets for.

2-Day Park Hopper® Tickets

These tickets allow you to go back and forth between Disneyland® and Disney California Adventure® Theme Parks as much as you’d like to during your two-day stay!

2-Day Park Hopper® Tickets with Disney MaxPass

So how do I decide?

That’s a good question. Each family or group of friends visiting Disneyland® Resort has a different view of how they would like their vacation to unfold.

Disneyland® Resort vs. Walt Disney World®

First, it’s important to remember that traveling to Disneyland® Resort is different than traveling to Walt Disney World®. Because Walt Disney World® has four parks, and Disneyland® only has two, it’s easier to cover the whole of Disneyland® thoroughly than it is to cover Walt Disney World®.

Additionally, the entrances to the parks in California are much closer together, making it less of a trek between the two. If you’re planning a Disneyland® Resort vacation, it might be cost-effective to look into exploring other theme parks in the area, or exploring the surrounding area of Anaheim and Los Angeles, after purchasing a 2-Day or 3-Day pass to Disneyland® Resort.

First-time visitors to Disneyland® Resort, however, are encouraged to spend at least three days, maybe even four, at the resort.

Timing

The number of people in the park can really affect how much you can accomplish during your stay, and therefore can affect how long or short your stay should be. Crowds at Disneyland® Park and Disney California Adventure® are elevated during the summer months, around major holidays, and for a good period of time after new rides or areas of the park open.

Going at a less busy time means there will be shorter lines and most likely guests will be able to complete all that they want to in a shorter time than they would during peak tourist season.

The number of days you choose to spend at Disneyland® Resort should partially depend on the crowd estimates. Make sure you check how crowded the resort will be during your stay. You can do this by going to the Disney site and adding a one-day ticket to your cart: Disneyland® Resort offers tiered pricing for one-day passes and the cheapest tickets will be on days where fewer crowds are expected.

Other Benefits

If you’re looking for added benefits, to incentivize a longer stay, Disneyland® Resort includes a Magic Morning session on one day of your choice if you book a vacation of three days or longer. Guests who stay on the Disneyland® Resort property also get access to Extra Magic Hours, which means early admission each day to a park of their choice.

Many families who choose to vacation at Disneyland® Resort choose the Park Hopper® option simply because the parks are so close together that it seems cost-effective. Because Disneyland® Resort often staggers the closing time of both parks, so Park Hopper® tickets offer the ability to maximize time spent having fun.
