Knott’s Berry Farm Planning Guide

Knott’s Berry Farm opened nearly a century ago, starting life as a humble roadside berry shop. Shortly after, the Knotts opened a restaurant offering chicken dinners, before a smattering of attractions sprung up to keep customers entertained.

Over time, Knott’s Berry Farm grew into a world-famous theme park with thrill rides, stage shows, and non-stop entertainment. It’s the perfect destination for those who want to immerse themselves in a spirited adventure in sunny California.

Before heading off to Knott’s Berry Farm for your first trip, use this handy planning guide to minimize vacation stress and maximize the fun.

Park Highlights

It’s hard to pick highlights of Knott’s Berry Farm — because there are so many!

The location is divided into four themed areas — Ghost Town, Fiesta Village, The Boardwalk, and Camp Snoopy, all of which offer unique experiences.

Thrill-seekers won’t want to miss Knott’s Berry Farm’s newest attraction, HangTime, the first and only “dive coaster” in California.

This journey along a steel track is punctuated with plenty of suspense before it rolls into scream-inducing inversions and descents, including a 96-degree drop. You can find HangTime 150 feet above the Boardwalk area.

More thrill rides are tucked away in Ghost Town, which is home to the Silver Bullet and GhostRider. The former is an inverted roller coaster while the latter is “the longest, tallest, and fastest wooden roller coaster on the West Coast.”

Of course, Knott’s Berry Farm isn’t only for daredevils. Being a family destination, it caters to young children as well. A general guideline is that most of the kiddie attractions can be found in Camp Snoopy.

The kids can climb on board a miniature mining cart on Huff and Puff or hop on an 18-wheeler on the Peanuts Rocky Mountain Trucking Company, before rolling their way through the High Sierra Mountains.

Each day, there are all sorts of shows scheduled, including comedy, stunts, live music, or Broadway spectaculars. Have a seat at the Camp Snoopy Theater to view shows starring Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, and of course, Snoopy himself.

The Wagon Camp Theater offers thrilling stunt shows, while the Mystery Lodge is home to a Native American storyteller with intriguing tales to share. There are over 100 shows that take place at the park each year, with new performances added all the time.

Aside from rides and shows, there are also exhibitions such as Blacksmith, The Old School House, and the Pony Express Outpost. Also, don’t leave without dining in Mrs. Knott’s famous Fried Chicken Restaurant!
