Magic Morning at Disneyland® Resort
You want to get the most out of your Disneyland® Resort vacation without spending an arm and a leg. Becoming a Disneyland® Resort pro is easy if you know a few simple tips and tricks. Staying on the property can greatly increase your cost, but you can still experience the bliss of meeting Mickey Mouse by booking outside of the Disneyland® Resort system.
Did you know you can buy tickets from a third-party vendor and stay at nearby hotels? This potentially saves you hundreds on your total cost. Still, you’ve heard from countless friends that staying off property excludes you from perks such as Extra Magic Hours, Dining Plans, and other amenities. Don’t let the idea of these perks stop you from having the best visit to Disneyland® Resort.
The best news is that you can still get into the Disneyland® Park early! Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday (applicable days and times may vary and are subject to change), Disneyland® Park will open early to select guests through the Magic Morning experience. Unlike Extra Magic Hours, the guest will be limited to one Magic Morning per stay with the purchase of the three day or more park ticket.
The Magic Morning perk. We recommend arriving an hour and fifteen minutes earlier than normal park hours so you can make the most of your time in the park. An early arrival allows you the time to go to the top rides, meet characters, and take advantage of lower crowd volumes for some of the perfect photo opportunities.
What Rides Are Open?
Magic Morning visitors will have access to sections of both Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Not all attractions are open, but the vast majority of your must-do rides will be on that list.
Magic Morning does not work with Disneyland California Adventure® Park. Still, a savvy guest can get the best outcomes when utilizing Magic Mornings to rides some of the biggest rides from Disneyland® Park then utilizing Disney park hopper tickets to get into Disneyland California Adventure® Park without having to buy a ticket for each park. Check out some of the top experiences listed below:
Fantasyland
- Alice in Wonderland
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- King Arthur Carrousel
- Mad Tea Party
- Matterhorn Bobsleds
- Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Pinocchio’s Daring Journey
- Snow White’s Scary Adventures
Tomorrowland
- Astro Orbiter
- Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
- Disneyland Monorail
- Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage

Get a Better Value by going more Days
Often, visitors shortchange themselves by buying the fewest number of day tickets to try to save money. This is not your best value with Disneyland® Resort. Ticket prices experience extreme discounts when more days purchased upfront.
Purchasing the tickets from aRes Travel allows you to skip the long lines to purchase tickets at the gate and comes with the added Magic Morning perk. When three or more day tickets are purchased you are allowed one day to take advantage of the Magic Morning experience.
To make your visit an even greater value, purchase tickets with Park Hopper® to switch between parks without having buying separate tickets for each park. Pros utilize Magic Mornings by starting the day with Disneyland® Park for Magic Mornings then ending your day Disneyland California Adventure® Park.
Our recommendation is to book at least three days for the Magic Morning perk and combine those with Park Hopper® to not be restricted to one park per day.
Don’t Forget the Disney MaxPASS®
We cannot stress how much Disney MaxPASS® will save you time and improve your experience. Disney MaxPASS® can be purchased directly from Disney for $10 per person per day directly from Disneyland® Resort.
With Disney MaxPASS®, you scan your tickets using the Disneyland® Resort app. You will be able to book Fast Pass rides when you get on property directly from your mobile device. Without Disney MaxPASS®, the only way to book a Disney FASTPASS® ride is by walking to kiosks scattered through the park. With Disney MaxPASS®, you can find available Disney FastPASS® times from your mobile device.
Disney MaxPASS® also cuts wait time to book the next FastPASS down by half an hour versus the traditional Disney FASTPASS® system (One and a half hours instead of two hours).
Understanding the Disney FASTPASS® System
During normal park hours, you can bypass the mail line on certain rides by booking a Disney FASTPASS® through a kiosk. The Disney FASTPASS® system allows you to book an hour window of time to return for a shorter ride. For ticket holders, these fast passes can be booked once you enter the park.
Disney FASTPASS® is not active during Morning Magic because the lines are naturally shorter. However, you can still make a touring plan during regular park hours to limit your wait times for rides. In contrast, Disneyland FASTPASS +® is another product available to guests who book a room on property.
Disney FASTPASS® works best for ticket holders with paired with Disney MaxPASS® purchased directly from Disneyland® Resort and downloading the app.
Save time with Disney PhotoPass®
You want to get the perfect picture with characters by relying on a team or professional photographers with state of the art equipment. Photo Pass options can be purchased at multiple price points from any Disney PhotoPass® photographer scattered throughout the Disneyland® Resort. Easily link ride picture to your Disney PhotoPass® to cherish the memory of your family screaming during big drop photo ops. Disney PhotoPass® is easy and takes the guesswork out of your hands so you can focus on fun.
